OMSI Forum membership

A member of OMSI Forum is either a Promoter or an Adopter.

Promoter member - The promoter members own the Open Mobile Service Interface (OMSI) Forum. The promoter members pay for the majority of the costs for the administration, development and maintenance of the OMSI standard. A company can become a promoter member if it is selling mobile devices with its own brand name. Has, as opposed to other types of members, a formal right to vote on changes to the OMSI standard and can have up to three persons attending the meetings. Promoter members are sometimes referred to as core members.
Cost: ~100000 Euro per year.

Adopter member – The adopter membership is subcategorized into three types of memberships; application vendor member, user member and M/ODM (Manufacturer / Original Design Manufacturer) member. Common for these types of memberships is that they all have to sign adopter agreements with each of the promoter members. Their OMSI Forum membership entitles them to access of the latest OMSI specifications, the complete OMSI reference implementation (including the easily customizable reference client), OMSI Forum meeting documents and the OMSI web intranet. At OMSI Team meetings, each adopter member can participate with up to two representatives who have the right to propose changes to the OMSI standard. An adopter member has the right to develop and use own OMSI-based products commercially, and has the option to be listed at this web site with link to company web site.

Adopter member: Application vendor - an application vendor is a provider of OMSI based applications and solutions.
Cost: 3500 Euro per year.

Adopter member: User - a user member is an operator, repair partner and/or retailer who uses OMSI based solutions. A user member of OMSI Forum will typically use a customized version of the OMSI Forum reference client for their own purposes.
Cost: 12000 Euro per year.
